Getting Started With WayPoint
You can see for yourself how WayPoint works by conducting a trial of your own. Here are three ways:
1. Try it yourself. Transportation professionals are invited to take WayPoint without cost. We will 1) FAX you a copy of the test, 2) administered it over the phone--four (4) minutes start to finish and 3) call you back ten minutes later with the following confidential report on YOUR driving:
The number and type of preventable collisions you've had since you got your drivers' license
Your driving style, e.g. speed, aggressiveness
Strengths and weaknesses
Countermeasures you personally should take to avoid collisions
2. Formal trial. A formal blind validation trial can be done quickly and easily as follows:
Select 20 or more of your best drivers such as million milers or drivers who have been with the company for at least two (2) years without a preventable collision. Select a second group of 20 or more drivers who have been with you for at least one (1) year and who have had multiple preventable collisions.
Administer WayPoint to drivers either individually or in groups. Either way, it takes about four minutes. Note: You will need a stopwatch. Administered in a safety meeting, WayPoint never fails to spur discussion on the fine points of driving, particularly when used with our suggested discussion points (provided).
Scoring. For the trial, WayPoint booklets are sent to us for scoring without indication of the driver's record, i.e. "blind". We return Driver Assessment Reports for each driver that include the driver's risk of a preventable collision; a description of his/her driving traits and a list of countermeasures specific to his or her information processing profile. [When WayPoint is operational, WayPoint results are reported by return FAX or by way of the WayPoint Windows 95 software].
Collision data and report. Once we have sent our report, you send us the collision history of the drivers in the trial. We return a complete statistical analysis that compares WayPoint scores to driving records. This analysis will help your company make a decision about using WayPoint for pre-employment screening or as a diagnostic for improving the safety of existing drivers.
